Cathryn started her fashion career at Benetton working the retail floor, then moved to JAG Australia, before heading back to school, to study fashion design at RMIT. Upon graduating, Cathryn was employed by Country Road in the knitwear team, eventually becoming Design Manager for the category. She then worked as a freelance designer for several businesses.
It was at Mimco where Cathryn found her niche, starting her career with the brand as a freelance knitwear designer in 2004, and working with the founder and former owner,
Amanda Briskin.
After nearly 5 years with the business, Cathryn is now the Creative Director, overseeing design, visual merchandising and marketing directives.
With a love for the world of creativity in all its forms, Cathryn believes that the approach to design should be innovative & spirited - always with the aim to surprise & inspire.

Mimco was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 1996, as a privately owned company and rose quickly to become Australia’s leading fashion accessories brand because of strong product design and exclusivity, combined with an excellent in-store experience for the Mimco customer. It has a unique positioning between Luxury Designer and High-Street brands. August 2007 saw Mimco acquired by Gresham Private Equity which also owns the successful Witchery fashion brand located across Australia and New Zealand in more than 100 stores. Both businesses have their Head Offices in Melbourne.
Today, Mimco has 37 retail boutiques across Australia with an additional 6 recently opened in the UK. In Australia Mimco enjoys an exclusive wholesale relationship with the country’s most prestigious department store, David Jones, which has 34 stores. Mimco are also stocked in select House of Fraser department stores in the UK.
Mimco designs desirable, aspirational fashion accessories across bags, jewellery, shoes, wallets, hats, gloves, knitwear and hair categories, with a very clear and genuine passion to create things that persuade women to explore, experiment and play.

Mimco’s retail spaces are stylish, intimate getaways where women can experiment with delicate jewels and divine bags, mixing the eclectic with the simple and the sophisticated with the quirk.
