Fashion Palette is a worldwide fashion industry first event!

On Thursday 30th April, Fashion Palette 2009 kicked off with the launch event hosted by Fashion TV Host, Tara Long, at Sydney’s multi award-winning venue, The Cargo Lounge, where celebrities, designers and VIP guests attended to celebrate the launch of the first ever Fashion Palette Event. Surrounded by gorgeous views, treated with chilled sounds and a live saxophone player, the night’s energy moved towards the beat of bongos, whilst guests mingled with drinks and canapés on the eve of Fashion Palette 2009!

Following the Launch party was the 2-day conference and mini-exhibition event, seeing approximately 2500 people over the 2-days. Hosted by MTV’s Ruby Rose on Friday 1st May through to Saturday 2nd May, twelve leading fashionpreneurs shared their personal career journey’s and creative processes with the Australian fashion community at The Sydney Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour. The speakers at the event included Peter Morrissey, Mimco, InStyle, Alpha60, Insight, Arturo Elena, Style Hunter, Daniel Herman, Stand, Peter Dwyer, Rodd & Gunn and White Sands, with each speaker presenting a 45 minute presentation and runway show to demonstrate their work and/or brand, followed by Q&A’s from the audience.

Ending the amazing 2-days, Yen Magazine hosted the Fashion Palette After Party on Saturday 2nd May, in the deep vaulted riches of the heritage GPO Building at Martin Place. Over 2 runway shows throughout the evening, on a custom built runway, 15 leading up and coming Australian fashion designers were invited to showcase their collection, attracting a large number of celebrities, buyers, VIPs, mainstream media and the general public. A fantastic night was had by all – creating an invaluable platform for up and coming fashionpreneurs to be seen and gain access to an often inaccessible industry.
